Have you ever been told that you will never improve, or you are not a good fit?

After the London 2012 Olympics, Mariya Koroleva thought she would be in serious consideration for the next Olympic team in 2016, but she was not. Mariya was told she was too old (at 23) and that she did not fit into the team that was being considered which would be much younger.

She had a choice: 1. Give up on a second Olympics 2. Go for it and train for another year with no guarantees of being placed on the team.

Mariya went for it.

She felt in her gut that the world had not seen the best of her, and she had not seen the best of herself. Mariya did not want to have any regrets. She’d commit to being "all in" for that year before the decision for the next Olympic team was made. Mariya felt that if she gave 100% and still did not make it, then she could be at peace that she gave her...

(Scroll to the bottom to view the video.)

It’s time! If you feel like you deserve more, it’s time to go after it.

There are many reasons why we (yes, me included:) avoid the crucial conversations or steps required to next-level our ambitions and desires. Whatever is holding you back, rest assured it’s 100% normal and OK, but not conducive for the progress you want to see.

Keep in mind, your next "BIG WIN" might be restoring or strengthening a relationship. It might be taking your business to the next level, closing one new client, or maybe asking for a raise. Whatever it is for you, there are tools you can learn to gain the confidence required to achieve whatever it is that you want and deserve.

Here’s how to get started!

  1. Believe
Believe what you want is possible AND that you deserve it. This is a vital first step that must be explicit in your mind. If you are not 100%, try writing daily affirmations and and saying them out loud every night and every...

Quick Guide to Gaining World-Class Clarity (Take the "Get to Know Yourself" Questionnaire)

(Scroll to the bottom to view the video.)

Lack of clarity is the death of productivity AND joy.

I’ve seen it personally (... yes, I admit it!), and I’ve seen it in countless individuals and organizations. Whether it’s clarity on any given day, for a project or for a long-term mission, clarity is more important than you may even realize.

See, what we think and what we say to ourselves over and over again... we tend to believe. Take it even a step further. These thoughts and comments we make to ourselves (our internal dialogue) can manifest in our actions and eventually in the life we create for ourselves.

Clarity is the starting line for our best and most joyous selves.

Our ship needs to know where to sail, and we must believe the destination is not too remote. We must also know WHY we care so deeply... really why.

Leroy Dixon is a 2x Olympian and gold medalist in track and field. In a recent interview, I was surprised to learn, Dixon doesn’t even like track...

3 Steps to Build the Influence You Want and Deserve

(Scroll to the bottom to view the video.)

There is a misconception about influence that it is reserved for the elite few or for those in positions of authority.

We all have ideas, feelings and wisdom that deserve to be heard AND that may have a profound impact on others. I almost look at it as an obligation. Whether you feel like you are influential or not, you can learn to become more influential, and it starts with gaining an influential mindset.

Keep in mind that you believe what you consistently tell yourself, so use your internal voice wisely! You may have to be an actor or actress in the beginning.

I DON'T mean "fake it until you MAKE it."

I DO mean, "fake it until you BECOME it."

The first step to gaining the influence at work OR at home, is to believe that what you desire is possible.

Fortunately, there's a great tool you can use to do just that! It's a positive affirmations app that myself and my 1:1 clients...

From “No Talent” to 2X Olympian & Gold Medalist ... A Conversation with Leroy Dixon

What’s one thing we all have in common with world-class performers?

We all experience fear and doubt. These are two emotions that are felt at every level of performance, from novice to world-class. Striving for the next level and performing in moments that matter is scary, for everyone. There are also a couple fundamental differences that separates the best from the rest.

I was fortunate enough to interview Leroy Dixon recently, and he shared two of the most important factors that helped him go from “no talent” to 2X Olympian, gold medalist and (did I mention?) the 7th fastest man ever recorded in his event. Yes, Mr. Dixon has beaten Usain Bolt in his career as well. Maybe we are not going to be Olympians, but we CAN be world-class at what’s important to us. As a matter of fact, I believe we MUST. The army of do-gooders must prevail, so the time for us to level up is now.

How to Be More Purposeful

(Scroll to the bottom to view the video.)

Whether you consider yourself a world-class performer or not, you have a lot in common with those among the elite either professionally, academically or athletically.

You may sometimes fall off your purpose or lose it entirely. ‘Is this really what I am meant to do in the long-term?’ ‘What is my purpose or the best way for me to make progress today?’ ‘I need to switch gears , so how do find my (new) purpose?’ Athletes retire or get injured, senior leaders switch careers, academics change fields of interest, so they are not immune either! Lacking clarity on purpose can feel like the middle place, and it doesn’t tend to be too comfortable (at least not in my experience). Partly because we are not making progress towards something where we are making an impact for ourselves and/or for others.

The good news is that we can learn from what world-class performers do a little differently to be more...

3 Steps on How to Be a Warrior When It Matters

(Scroll to the bottom to view the video.)

We may not be preparing for a NBA title or any national stage, but we do have events that are no less important to us. Maybe it’s educational, professional, or personal.

When it’s time to go to battle for something that really matters, there are a couple things you can do to be world-class and deliver.

1.)  Get Clarity on What You Want.
How do you want to perform, or what outcome do you want? For example, I want to place in the Top 3. Or I want to get a certain job or promotion. Clarity is the first step in going after and getting what’s important to you.

2.)  Believe it Will Happen.
In other words, ‘Proceed as if success is inevitable.’ You may have to be an actor or an actress because you may not believe what you want is 100% possible. Did For example, if you believe you can place in the top 3 or get that job promotion, you will start to search out ways to get better. It fuels confidence! Your mindset...
