I am SO excited to share a sneak peek from my upcoming book, "ZONED IN: The Mental Toughness Required for a World-Class YOU!"
The content of the book was inspired in part by your questions, input, struggles and triumphs. My intention for ZONED IN is to be a mindset guide, manifesto and call to action, so it empowers you to take even more consistent bold action towards whatever is most important right now (your personal Olympics.)
The book starts with an exercise in reflection using the "Ambition Checkpoint Questionnaire."

CHAPTER 1, SECTION 2: GET TO KNOW YOURSELF
Celebrate! Celebrate the process and the commitment of learning how to refine your clarity, believe in your ambitions, and use your thoughts and emotions in a way that will champion your momentum and joy. Are you ready to experience a transformation already experienced by so many before you? By world-class athletes, leaders of fortune 500 companies, and by many others just like you?
Gaining greater clarity around what you yearn for and why it’s deeply important to you will serve as the foundation to your success. I’ve found that world-class athletes are remarkably clear about what they want and why, and it serves as a beacon to their success. According to Forbes writer and author of Strategic Acceleration, clarity should be your first priority. If you’ve declared that it’s your time, let’s get crystal clear about what you want and why you care.
Here is where to start:
- Step 1: Decide.
- Step 2: Get to know yourself or maybe just get reacquainted.
The "Ambition Checkpoint Questionnaire" is a tool to help you next-level your understanding of who you are and what’s important to you. You’ll be looking from a perspective that may be unfamiliar, but may be a catalyst for you to ignite momentum and inspire consistent action. Here are a few important instructions to keep in mind, so you can get the most benefit:
- Make sure you are in a quiet place where you will not be disturbed by other people, pets, phones, watches, tablets, TV, etc. for 30 minutes. Feel free to do a few questions at a time if you have less time at each sitting. It’s most important that you are 100% undistracted. If possible, play your favorite music while you are filling this questionnaire out.
- Be honest. This task is not judged or graded. It’s simply for your reflection.
- Think from a place of abundance, not from a place of lack. Start flexing the muscle of optimism and infinite possibilities.
Ambition Checkpoint Questionnaire
Are there any people or life events that have greatly impacted you? If so, how did they make you think, or what did they make you wonder about?
Without thinking about it too much, what makes you smile? What makes you happy? What makes you proud of yourself?
If you were sitting across the table from your best and most successful self (as defined by you), what would that self tell you right now?
By making progress towards your best self, who else will it impact?
If you were given three months to take action or your dream would vanish forever, how would you feel?
What do you consider your strengths that you most enjoy?
If you were going to make a huge request, to ask someone for help, who would that be?
Why would this be important to getting what you want and deserve?
Why haven’t you done it yet?
Imagine yourself out in nature standing on the top of a mountain with a magic wand and looking up at the top of a neighboring much bigger mountain. If you could wave a magic wand to transform your future self into the highest and happiest version of you, what would your highest and happiest self have accomplished and how would he/she feel?
When you are taken from this world, what do you want to be remembered for, and why is that important to you?
