Remarkable Tactics to Make This YOUR Breakout Year

(Scroll to the bottom to view the video.)

In this week's Facebook Live video we talked about the importance of dreaming big.

Consider the following, and start thinking about YOUR big dream:

  • In 1976, Steve Wozniak shared with Hewlett Packard (his employer at the time) the idea of creating a personal computer. He was rejected. So he and his friend Steve Jobs got to work themselves on their dream of individual creativity for each user
  • Martin Luther King had a dream that someday there would be equality for all.
  • When Michael Phelps was 7 years old, he had a dream that there were no limits on what he could achieve.

Is there anything big or small that you dream of doing? Maybe a trip, running a half marathon, a career change? The books Peak and Talent Is Overrated are just two (but impactful) books that have proven over and over that you are only limited by what you think is possible. So start dreaming big!

Why is this SO important?

Believe It and Become It.

When we believe something is possible, our awareness goes from narrow to broad. In other words, we become more aware of opportunities. We are also more likely to take action. believing is the first step.

The Science Says So!

Part of our brain, the Reticular Activating System (RAS) helps us make our conscious thoughts a reality. The RAS acts as a filter and decides which information is important, and which isn’t. Utilizing its full potential can contribute greatly to you living the life you want ... or being stuck in a terrible routine. That's right, it can backfire, so make sure your thoughts are positive and encouraging!

Great, but how?

Dream Big. Do Small.

Get comfortable giving up control of whether or not your big dream will happen. What? Yep, if you're able to do this you will be better equipped to stick with the process. It's consistency that wins. Focus your day to day efforts on controllables to improve and get consistent. Very consistent.
